Mental Health First Aid Training

1 in 3 Americans will be diagnosed with a mental health condition this year.

This course teaches people how to give first aid to individuals experiencing a mental health crisis situation and/or who are in the early stages of a mental health disorder. Join us on Friday, April 7 from 8 a.m. ‐ 5 p.m. at the Cobblestone Hotel & Suites in Beulah. To register call Melissa at 7018737788,107. The cost of this course is free if you live in the service area or have been a patient at the clinic in the last year. Out of service area cost of this training is $50.

SMC Rehab offers an innovative therapy that helps with the development of muscle strength for a variety of patients. Steve Ziegler, PT, DPT, is certified to offer Blood Flow Restriction Therapy which is often used on patients prior to or following surgery in their extremities. Sakakawea Medical Center and Coal Country Community Health Center are pleased to welcome Ann Ruffo, DO, to our team. Dr. Ruffo will primarily be serving patients at CCCHC Hazen. She will also be providing care in the emergency room at SMC.

SMC has teamed up with the UND Center for Rural Health, Coal Country Community Health Center, Custer Health, Hilltop Home of Comfort and Knife River Care Center to gather information about the communities we serve and learn more about how local services are used. The results of this survey will be used to develop a plan to improve and expand the care we provide.
