This unique program is designed for providing free or discounted care to those who have no means or limited means to pay for their services (uninsured and/or underinsured). In addition to quality healthcare, patients of Sakakawea Medical Center (SMC) are entitled to financial counseling by someone who can understand and offer possible solutions for those who cannot pay in full.

Sakakawea Medical Center Foundation’s Annual Fund Drive for 2021-2022 has begun! The purpose of this fund drive is to secure the finances needed for SMC to continue to meet current and future healthcare needs in our area. This is an opportunity for you as an individual to make an impact on the health and well-being of your community.
Vaccinations are now open to the general public. Individuals 18 years of age and older are eligible to receive their vaccine at Coal Country Community Health Center. The following vaccines are available at all CCCHC locations:
SMC has teamed up with the UND Center for Rural Health, Coal Country Community Health Center, Custer Health, Hilltop Home of Comfort and Knife River Care Center to gather information about the communities we serve and learn more about how local services are used. The results of this survey will be used to develop a plan to improve and expand the care we provide.
