CCCHC will be conducting a free COVID‐19 testing event on Tuesday, Sept. 22 from 7:30‐9:30 a.m. in the SMC Ambulance Bay. Individuals wanting to be tested are asked to enter west of the Mercer County Ambulance building and drive through the SMC Ambulance Bay to be tested. Pre‐registration for this event is available at https://testreg.nd.gov/. This process is strongly recommended to speed up your testing experience.

Healing at Home
Despite undergoing a scary illness earlier this year, Kent Larson is now on the mend. He said this was largely due to the quality care provided by nursing staff at the hospital, as well as making use of the outpatient services available at the Sakakawea Medical Center Treatment Room that allowed Kent to spend much of his healing process at home. Kent is pictured here in that treatment room where he received his daily IV antibiotics. Beside him is Molly Nelson, RN, Nursing Care Coordinator, who helped care for him through his healing process.
Local healthcare organizations seek community input
SMC has teamed up with the UND Center for Rural Health, Coal Country Community Health Center, Custer Health, Hilltop Home of Comfort and Knife River Care Center to gather information about the communities we serve and learn more about how local services are used. The results of this survey will be used to develop a plan to improve and expand the care we provide.
